Filmtech's 2012 Summer Camps:

Film Production Camps and Acting Camps

Filmtech's 2-week summer Filmmaking Camps and Acting Camps are a great way for your child to have fun, be creative and learn how to act, or to write, shoot, produce and edit a video project. We have day camps for 10-13-year-olds and 14-to-17-year-olds. Our camps teach the fundamentals of the collaborative process of moviemaking as the students work together for 2 weeks as a crew.

In the Film Camp, campers learn how story structure, character and plot work together to tell a story as they develop a script. They then work work together to bring the script to life in front of the camera by learning how to work with actors, gather light and sound, operate the camera and set up their shots. Finally, the crew edits the video on Final Cut Pro software and finishes the week with a DVD of their work.

In the Acting Camp, your child will learn the fundamentals of acting technique, getting comfortable in front of the camera and bringing a character to life. Campers are taught improv, scene work and classic acting methods as they learn on-camera techniques applicable to commercials, TV and film.

When:
Filmtech offers several 2-week-long day camp sessions to choose from. Camp is held from 9:30 AM-4 PM Mon-Fri.

Where:
Classes are held at Filmtech Film School in South Philadelphia at 2019 S. Juniper St., off Broad Street and Snyder Avenue. The school is in a safe, quiet neighborhood, easily accessible by public transportation or by car. See our Location page for more information.

We also hold camps at the following locations:

Tower Hill School: 2813 W. 17th St. Wilmington, DE.

Tuition:
$1,195 per camper. Registration must be completed and payment received at least 10 days before the start of camp. No refunds made less than ten days before the start of camp.
