The Acting Studio at Filmtech
Filmtech offers 8-week classes and 15-week semester-long intensive acting programs designed to train both beginning and experienced actors. Our programs are designed to provide significant training in acting technique, and reinforce and advance acting skills through scene study and workshop exercises. Each class or program is offered on weekends or evenings to provide for those who work or go to school during the week.
15-WEEK INTENSIVE PROGRAMS
The Foundations of Acting Technique
This program is designed for the beginning actor who wants to learn the fundamentals of acting. Learn the theory and practice of acting using improvisation exercises, scene work and the Meisner process. Students build an understanding of active listening, connection, and comfort in performance. The goal of the program is to introduce the student to actor training methods and how to build a character.
15 Sessions. Tuesdays, 7-10 PM. Starts March 20. Instructor: Gene Terruso
Acting for the Screen
This program is for those with some acting experience or training who want to develop acting skills specifically tailored for screen work, including film, TV and commercial work. Students explore practical techniques for preparing for work in the field and exercises designed to sharpen awareness of the special requirements of screen acting. The program uses scene work, the on-camera interview, monologue training and commercial copy, and exposes the student to the practical experiences of working with a casting director and preparing for auditions.

8-WEEK CLASSES
Filmtech's acting classes are designed to teach you the techniques of acting with a curriculum and class structure tailored toward acting for the screen. Whether you're beginning acting or have some experience, our instructors will give you the tools you need to take your acting skills to the next level. All classes are 8 sessions long.
Beginning Acting for Teens
Designed especially for 13-17-year-olds, this class uses monologue and scene readings to teach introductory acting techniques, relaxing and feeling comfortable in front of the camera, character and scene development. Students work with one another to memorize scenes, learn improvisation and have fun while acting.

Beginning Acting for Adults
If you've always wanted to learn how to act for fun or want to start going on auditions, this class will get you started on the fundamentals of acting techniques. The workshop class uses scene readings, memorization and improvisation to get you comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. You learn scene development, sense memory, dramatic arc, and how to identify and develop a character's psychological motivation.

Intermediate Acting
If you have some acting experience or training and want to further develop your skills, this is the class for you. With a focus on acting for the screen, the intermediate class teaches you to identify and express the emotional arc of a scene, and conceptualize and develop a character's psychological and emotional motivation. In a workshop setting, you work with the instructor to delve deeper into techniques of emotional expression, control and flexibility, and develop the actor's "toolbox" to have the skills to be able to deliver the performance the director wants.

TUITION REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS
No
tuition will be refunded or credit given once a class has started. Filmtech reserves
the right to cancel any class due to insufficient enrollment, in which
case tuition will be fully refunded.
